Public or private university: what to choose
Public universities such as the Politecnico di Milano and La Sapienza accept students on the basis of an application, sometimes supplemented by a national test (TOLC) and an IELTS test for English-language programs; fees, which vary according to family income, generally range from €1,000 to €3,000 per year.
Private universities - Bocconi, LUISS, Cattolica - are more selective (Bocconi Test or SAT/ACT, interview and proof of English) and charge fees of between €12,000 and €18,000 per year. In exchange, you benefit from small-group tuition, English-language programs and a solid network of partner companies.
